LavanderĂa Continental
A story of effort, resilience, and trust
This is how the story of Sandra Madrid begins—founder of LavanderĂa Continental, in the heart of GuatapĂ©. A woman who is grateful for every step of her journey: her years as an employee, the lessons learned from past entrepreneurial attempts, and every experience that, although challenging, prepared her to build what today represents her greatest achievement.
It was during the COVID-19 lockdown that Sandra decided it was time to turn her dream into a true life project. She carefully analyzed every stage of the process, ran tests, adjusted the business model, and in December 2021, officially opened the doors of LavanderĂa Continental. Since then, alongside her team, she has perfected the service, adapting it to the real needs of her clients: hotels, hostels, vacation homes, and now also tourists and local families.
“This project was born in times of uncertainty, but it grew with the certainty that well-done work always finds its place.”
With the support of Fondo Emprender from SENA, LavanderĂa Continental has improved its infrastructure and expanded its operational capacity, becoming the only industrial laundry in the municipality, capable of serving over 60% of Guatapé’s hospitality sector.
But beyond washing clothes, Sandra has a clear vision: to offer dignified, stable employment and wellbeing to her team in a region where informality has been common. She has also built a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, with technical processes for washing, stain removal, and disinfection that ensure quality and trust in every service.
“LavanderĂa Continental doesn’t just care for clothes, it cares for people. We care for your time, your memories, and your peace of mind.”
Today, this project is not only a solid business, but also a true example of female leadership, social commitment, and love for doing things right.
